Relaxation in the New Forest

Our next destination was the New Forest, a beautiful forest area worth exploring in Southern England. There's not really too many hostels in the New Forest so we splurged and stayed in a B&B in a town called Brockenhurst - it was great! We were the only guests and enjoyed sumptuous traditional English Breakfasts cooked for us, including homemade jam from home-grown berries and apples (very impressive).

The New Forest is known for it's "wild" ponies. These ponies seem to just wander the streets and forest, taking the odd unwary tourist's lunch every now and then. They certainly aren't like Brumbies...now that's a wild horse.

There's lots of walking and cycling tracks in this area so we were able to explore the forest on foot. Check out the photos below of what we saw on one of our walks.

Beautiful roses on someone's house -

A shortcut through town following a pretty stream -

Green fields and beautiful trees on our walk through the New Forest (not all of it is forest - it's a mix of farms, fields and forest)

Bunnies! We saw lots of wildlife on our walk - bunnies, squirrels, ducks, mice and farm animals

Big Porkers! The male pig started to get a bit hot and heavy with one of the females while we stood watching them...however we moved on quickly as it was quite disturbing.
