Brighton - Oh I Do Like To Be Beside the Sea...

After a short stay in Canterbury we made our way to the sea-side city of Brighton. Although it is only a relatively short distance between the two locations we ended up having to catch two trains and a double decker bus...gotta love the public transport system in the UK!

Brighton is an amazing place...it kind of attracts you and repulses you at the same time...it's just over the top in EVERY way.

We enjoyed our first glimpse of an old English sea-side town with colourful and garish piers with neon lights. We also tried good old English fish and chips with mashy peas and ketchup. The fish was almost as oily as the chips! Not like fresh Tropical fish. Sigh. In continuation of the oily theme we also tried doughnuts, although Jo had her doughnut stolen from her hand by a hungry, swooping seagull! It even stole her napkin as well! Needless to say Jo developed a healthy dose of paranoia whenever outside with food while in Brighton. And Jason has since told at least 15 strangers this story with much glee!

All in all we enjoyed our short stay in Brigton, however we're not sure how many towns like Brighton we could stand visiting and couldn't stay more than two days!
